وَالسَّمَاءِ
[swearing an oath] By the sky
وَالطَّارِقِ

الثَّاقِبُ

إِنْ

نَفْسٍ
a soul
لَمَّا

عَلَيْهَا
over it; upon it[feminine]
حَافِظٌ
a protector
فَلْيَنْظُرِ
so let look; so let see
الْإِنْسَانُ
mankind
مِمَّ
from what
خُلِقَ
he is created
مِنْ
from
مَاءٍ
a water
دَافِقٍ
ejected
يَخْرُجُ
coming forth
بَيْنِ
between
الصُّلْبِ
the backbone
وَالتَّرَائِبِ
and the ribs
إِنَّهُ
indeed, he
عَلَىٰ
to
رَجْعِهِ
return him
لَقَادِرٌ
(is) surely able
يَوْمَ
day
تُبْلَى
will be tested
السَّرَائِرُ
the secrets
فَمَا
then not
لَهُ
for him
قُوَّةٍ
power
وَلَا
and not
نَاصِرٍ
a helper
ذَاتِ
which; possesses[feminine]
الرَّجْعِ
the return; returns
وَالْأَرْضِ
and the earth
الصَّدْعِ
cracks open
لَقَوْلٌ
(is) surely a word
فَصْلٌ
decisive
هُوَ
he is; it
بِالْهَزْلِ
(is) for + amusement
إِنَّهُمْ
indeed, they
يَكِيدُونَ
they plot; plotting [plural]
كَيْدًا
a plan
وَأَكِيدُ
and I plot; and I plan
فَمَهِّلِ
so give respite
الْكَافِرِينَ
the disbelievers
أَمْهِلْهُمْ
give respite to them
رُوَيْدًا
a little
