وَيْلٌ
woe; distress is upon
لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ
to those who give less
الَّذِينَ
those who
إِذَا

اكْتَالُوا
they take a measure

النَّاسِ
the people
يَسْتَوْفُونَ
they take in full
وَإِذَا
and when; but when
كَالُوهُمْ
they give by measure (to) them; they give the full amount, as well as possible, (to) them
أَوْ
or
وَزَنُوهُمْ
they weigh (for) them
يُخْسِرُونَ
they give less; they make deficient
أَلَا
do not?
يَظُنُّ
he think(s)
أُولَٰئِكَ
those
أَنَّهُمْ
that they
مَبْعُوثُونَ
those resurrected
لِيَوْمٍ
for a day
عَظِيمٍ
great
يَوْمَ
day
يَقُومُ
he will stand
لِرَبِّ
(present) to (the) Lord
الْعَالَمِينَ
the worlds
كَلَّا
nay!; absolutely not!
إِنَّ
indeed
كِتَابَ
record; book
الْفُجَّارِ
(of) the wicked
لَفِي
surely in
سِجِّينٍ
Sijjeenin [evil record]
وَمَا
and what
أَدْرَاكَ
can make you know
مَا
what
سِجِّينٌ
Sijjeenun [an evil record]
كِتَابٌ
a book
مَرْقُومٌ
that which is written; that which is inscribed
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that day
لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
يُكَذِّبُونَ
they deny
بِيَوْمِ
in (the) day
الدِّينِ
the judgement
وَمَا
and not
يُكَذِّبُ
denies
بِهِ
in it
إِلَّا
except
كُلُّ
every
مُعْتَدٍ
a transgressor
أَثِيمٍ
sinful
إِذَا
when
تُتْلَىٰ
are recited
عَلَيْهِ
to him
آيَاتُنَا
our verses
قَالَ
he says
أَسَاطِيرُ
stories; tales
الْأَوَّلِينَ
the former (people)
كَلَّا
nay!; absolutely not!
بَلْ
but; rather; on the other hand
رَانَ
(a) stain has covered [black spot]
عَلَىٰ
upon; over
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts
مَا
what
كَانُوا
they used to; were
يَكْسِبُونَ
they earn
إِنَّهُمْ
indeed, they
عَنْ
from
رَبِّهِمْ
their Lord
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that day
لَمَحْجُوبُونَ
they surely will be partioned; surely will be a barrier (between) them
ثُمَّ
then
لَصَالُو
(surely) they will burn
الْجَحِيمِ
the Hellfire
يُقَالُ
it will be said; it is said
هَٰذَا
this
الَّذِي
the one who; (the thing specified)
كُنْتُمْ
you used to
تُكَذِّبُونَ
you[plural] deny
إِنَّ
indeed
كِتَابَ
record
الْأَبْرَارِ
the righteous
لَفِي
surely is in
عِلِّيِّينَ
Illyeen [blissful record]
أَدْرَاكَ
can make you know
كِتَابٌ
a book
يَشْهَدُهُ
(he) witness it
الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
those brought near
نَعِيمٍ
bliss
الْأَرَائِكِ
The thrones
يَنْظُرُونَ
them looking on; them observing
تَعْرِفُ
you recognize
فِي
in
وُجُوهِهِمْ
their faces
نَضْرَةَ
radiance
يُسْقَوْنَ
they will be given to drink
مِنْ
from
رَحِيقٍ
a pure wine
مَخْتُومٍ
that which is sealed
خِتَامُهُ
its seal
مِسْكٌ
musk
وَفِي
and in
ذَٰلِكَ
that
فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ
Then let aspire
الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
those who aspire
وَمِزَاجُهُ
and its mixture
تَسْنِيمٍ
Tasneem
عَيْنًا
a spring
يَشْرَبُ
he (will) drinks
بِهَا
from it[feminine]
أَجْرَمُوا
they committed crimes
آمَنُوا
they believed
يَضْحَكُونَ
they laugh
مَرُّوا
they passed
بِهِمْ
by them
يَتَغَامَزُونَ
they winked at one another
انْقَلَبُوا
they returned
إِلَىٰ
to
أَهْلِهِمُ
their people; their family
فَكِهِينَ
them jesting; those jesting
رَأَوْهُمْ
they saw them
هَٰؤُلَاءِ
these
قَالُوا
they said
لَضَالُّونَ
surely have gone astray
أُرْسِلُوا
they had been sent
عَلَيْهِمْ
over them
حَافِظِينَ
guardians
فَالْيَوْمَ
so today
الْكُفَّارِ
the disbelievers
هَلْ
has; have
ثُوِّبَ
He/it had been rewarded
يَفْعَلُونَ
they do
