Heat rash- common in hot, moist climates. Manifests in trunk, intertriginous areas. Plugging and rupture of sweat duct.

Burning, itching superficial vesicles, red and thin-walled

Triamcinialone acetonide, 0.1% in Sarna lotion
Solar lentigo- Eti
Increasing age, white people, easily sunburned, from excess sun exposure

Pigmented skin macule on skin exposed to sunlight. light brown to black

Benign- indicates sensitivity to UVR- watch for other types of skin issues

Acute, delayed transient inflammatory response- photo toxic reaction.

Painful erythema, mild edema, sharp demarcation between areas

Prevention! Cool wet dressings, topical glucocorticods, NSAIDs

Simultaneous exposure to drugs and light or chemicals

Exaggerated sun burn response following systemic exposure to photosensitizing agent and UVR
Topical phototoxic dermatitis- sx
erythema, swelling, vesiculation & blistering confined to area of agent.

Repeated solar injuries over many years- lifeguards & outdoor worker. Skin exposed areas
Dermatoheliosis- Sx
Atrophy, hypertrophy, telangiectases, spotty hyperkertosis. Skin appears wrinkly, leathery & prematurely aged.
