Bullous pemphigoid- Sx

A

Prodrome followed by bullae in a generalized eruption. Moderate to severe pruritus. Erythematous, small, tense lesion in flexural areas- containing serous or hemorrhagic fluid.

Ultra potent topical corticosteroids. Systemic predisone if severe

A

Autoimmune disorder- rare, most common in jewish or Mediterranean descent. Onset 40-60 YO

A

Lesions begin on oral mucous membranes. Flaccid bullae turn to crusts and erosions. Painful.

A

IgG antibodies in serum. Light microscopy. Niklosky sign- rubbing swab on uninvolved skin causes separation

Glucocorticoids & immunosuppresive therapy. Agressive tx required
