Each dealer and exhibitor must have an AV to provide adequate veterinary care. What two provisions are required?
A
- Employ an AV under formal arrangements. In the case of a part-time AV, formal written plan shall include a written program of vet care and regularly scheduled visits to the premises
- AV must have sufficient authority to ensure provision of adequate vet care and oversee the adequacy of other aspects of animal care and use

Programs of veterinary care at a dealer or exhibitor must include what?
A
- Availability of appropriate facilities, personnel, equipment, and services to comply with Act
- Use of appropriate methods to prevent, control, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries and availability of emergency, weekend, and holiday care
- Daily observation of all animals to assess health and well-being. May be accomplished by someone other than AV. Mechanism of direct and frequent communication is required so that timely and accurate info on problems of animal health, behavior, and well-being is conveyed to the AV
- Guidance to personnel regarding handling, immobilization, anesthesia, analgesia, tranquilization, and euthanasia
- Adequate pre-procedural and post-procedural care in accordance with current established vet med and nursing procedures
