Diagnosis

A
  • Slowed gastric emptying
  • Caused by damage to vagus nerver
  • Symptoms- N/V a feeling of fullness after eating small amount
  • Effect- Food absorption - glucose intering the blood difficulty controlling glucose
  • Drug effects
  • Amylin/incretin mimetics- gastric empty- hypoglycemia
  • Diagnosis- Uper gastro endoscopy, barium breakfast meal, gastric emptying scintigraphy
