Formed in the North Atlantic along the Polar Front where there were warmer than usual sea surface temps.
Helped east by a very strong jet stream wind of over 200 mph

- 4 deaths - 14 year old swept out to sea and never found
- £0.5 billion damage
- 10million trees destroyed - unable to get to work
- All transport closed/cancelled
- 850 000 homes without power
