- 100 million have benefitted
- supports industry (uses large amounts of water) so generates more wealth and economic development
- agriculture - increases water supply
- better water quality - health

disadvantages
A
- cost 60 billion
- farmland, habitats and communities displaced to build the reservoirs
- mostly going to supply the urban areas so rurals will get little to no access
- is actually causing scarcity in the south
- very expensive so some in urban areas cant afford access
