Potassium-sparing diuretic - steroid medication that promotes the excretion of Na by inhibiting aldosterone
(also has anti-androgenic properties)

What are the indications for spironolactone?
A
Oedema, ascites in liver cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome, resistant hypertension, hyperaldosteronism, hirtuism and acne

What are the contraindications of spironolactone?
A
Addison’s disease, anuria, hyperkalaemia

Digoxin

A
Urinary frequency, dehyration, hyperkalaemia, hyponatraemia, hypotension, acidosis
