What do Abiotic and Biotic factors determine?
Determine the survival and growth of an organism
What is a Habitat?
The area where an organism lives
Includes both Abiotic and Biotic factors
What is a Nitche?
A full range of physical and biological conditions in which an organism lives and the way the organism uses those conditions
A Nitche includes?
Th type of food the organism eats
how it obtains the food
Which other species use this organism for food
What is the Competitive Exclusion Principle?
NO two species can occupy exactly the same Nitche in the exact habitat at the exact same time
What is Competition?
When organisms of the same or different species attempt the use an ecological resource in the same place at the same time
What is a Resource?
Any necessity of life such as water,nutrients,light,food,space
What is Predation?
An interaction in which one organism captured and feeds on another organism
What is a KeyStone Species?
A species that has an unusually large effect on its ecosystem
