What is a nerve cell?
Nerve cell carry electrical pulses around the body of an animal. They allow communication throughout all parts of the body. The nerve cells contain dendrites which connect to the other cells.
What is a sperm cell?
Sperm cells contain genetic information from the male parent. The long tail moves side to side to help move sperm through reproductive system. A large nucleus contains genetic information that gets passed on.
What is a muscle cell?
Muscles can contract and relax in pairs in order to move the bones in the skeleton. Muscle cells are also used in the digestive system to contract in order to squeeze food in the gut.
What is ciliated epithelial cell?
Cilia are tiny hair on the surface of the cell. This is used to sweep any dust or bacteria to the back of the throats where it can be swallowed.
What is a red blood cell?
Red blood cells transport oxygen for aerobic respiration. They need to absorb oxygen in the lungs and release oxygen to breathing cells.
