Photosynthesis Flashcards
Leaf Adaptions
Contain veins, and air spaces such as guard cells and chloroplasts.
Air spaces allow carbon dioxide.
What is photosynthesis?
Light energy is harnessed by the chloroplasts. The light energy is used to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose. And this converts light energy into chemical.
What is the process of photosynthesis?
Small green parts called chloroplasts, which contain a green substance called chlorophyll. Energy is transferred from the environment to the chloroplasts by light.
What is the formula of Photosynthesis?
Carbon dioxide+water-light-> glucose+oxygen
What is the rate of photosynthesis?
Is affected by light intensity, temperature, level of carbon dioxide, and the amount of chlorophyll.
How do plants use glucose?
Plant cells and algal cells, respire all the time. They use some glucose produced from photosynthesis. Glucose is broken down using oxygen to provide energy.
