What is a benign tumour?
Are growths from abnormal cells contained in one place. They dont invade other parts but can grow very large and quickly and can cause organ damage.
What is a malignant tumour?
It can spread around the body invading healthy tissue. It splits up releasing small clumps of cells in the blood stream. It continues its division around the body and lodges into the organs and spreads to other organs. This is also known as cancer.
What causes cancer?
It can be caused by a number of factors which include smoking, sun burn, drinking, diabetes, obesity, too much red meat and too much sugar.
How can it be treated?
It can be treated through a number of stages, the most common being chemotherapy. There is also the use of radiotherapy. These therapies help people with any type of cancer.
