What is the heart valves?
The heart valves keeps the blood flowing in the right direction.
What is a coronary artery?
The walls in the heart are made of muscles that supply oxygen.
What is a capillary?
Enables oxygen and glucose to diffuse out of the blood and into the cells.
What is a vein?
The blood is squeezed back towards he heart by the action of the muscles.
What is a artery?
Carries blood away from the heart to the organs of the body.
What is a natural pacemaker?
Resting heart rate is controlled by a group of cells in the right atrium that form a natural pacemaker.
What is a artificial pacemaker?
Works by electrical devices used to correct irregularities in the heart rhythm.
What is a Alveoli?
Have very thin walls to allow gases to pass through. Also has a large surface area, moist lining to dissolve gases. And most importantly having a good blood supply, for maximum oxygen to enter the blood.
