17
Q

Give some evidence that supports the collision theory

A
  1. The Moon is less dense than the Earth
  2. Samples of rock from the Moon show that its surface was once molten
  3. The Moon has a small iron core, similair to the Earth
  4. The composition of the rocks on the Earth and the Moon are the same
18
Q

Give some evidence that contradicts the collision theory

A
  1. The surface of the Earth does not appear to have ever been molten
  2. The composition of rocks on the moon would be expected to similair to Theia, but it’s more similair to Earth
  3. Venus has no moon
19
Q

What are the two gases most commonly found in nebulae

A

Hydrogen and helium

20
Q

What evidence shows supports the collision theory

A
  1. Evidence shows that the surface of the Moon was once molten
  2. The Moon has a small iron core, like the earth
  3. The composition of rocks o the earth and the moon are the same
  4. The Moon is less dense than the Earth
21
Q

What evidence contradicts the collision theory

A
  1. Venus has no moon
  2. Evidence shows that the surface of the Earth was never molten
22
Q

How is a star formed

A

A star is formed when the dust and gas collect together in a stellar nursery and become bigger due to the force of gravity. When the force of gravity increases, the pressure increases causing the star to give out heat and light.
