Obedience
Complying with the orders of an authority figure
Conformity
Matching the behaviour and beliefs of others in order to fit in or because we dont know how to behave in an unusual situation
Deindividuation
Loss of personal self-awareness and responsibility as a result of being in a group
Bystander effect
Also known as bystander apathy is when we fail to help another in need

Features of an individual (e.g., traits) that influence how likely they are to intervene in an emergency

External locus of control
Someone with an external locus of control is more likely to obey because they are less likely to take responsibility for their own actions and blame it on someone else
Internal locus of control
Someone with an Internal locus of control is less likely to obey and are more independent and likely to take responsibility for their actions
Authoritarian Personality traits
Respect for authority figure
Beliefs and attitudes that are rigid
Strong belief in Justice
Aggression towards those perceived as inferior
Right wing political views
Pro-Social behaviour
Behaviour which contributes to the positive functioning of society
Anti-Social behaviour
Actions that harm or lack consideration for others for the mental conditioning of others.
Blind Obedience
Unquestioning obedience regardless of whether they believe what they are doing is morally, ethically or legally right
Compliance
Going along with majority even though you privately disagree
