What is an open skill?
Skills used in sports where the situations is always changing
What is a closed skill?
Where the skill practised in an isolated place matches what you do in a game situation
What is a basic skill?
A skill that the player finds easy and needs little concentration.
What is a complex skill?
A skill the player need complete attention and concentration because the technique is difficult.
What is low organisation?
Has clear simple phases or parts
What is high organisation?
Lots of complicated phases or parts
What is visual guidance?
Most common way where either someone will perform the skill or a video will be played
What is verbal guidance?
Used before giving a demonstration. The coach will talk and explain the skill.
What is Manual & Mechanical guidance?
When the coach is in contact with the student to maintain control when learning the skill.
What is intrinsic feedback?
Feedback from the performer on how well they think they performed.
What is extrinsic feedback?
Comes from an outside source, teacher or coach. Feedback will motivate them.
What is concurrent feedback?
Feedback given at the time of the performance.
What is terminal feedback?
Feedback given at the end of the performance which is beneficial. Used so the performers can reflect.
