Interval training
Physical training involving alternating stages of high and low intensity activity.
Continuous training
Continuous training is steady training. Your working heart rate will not be very high but will be in the target zone for aerobic fitness. There are no rest periods, and a session usually lasts for at least 15 minutes.
Fartlek training
A method of training for runners where the terrain and speed are constantly changing.
Circuit training
Circuit training involves a number of exercises, arranged so as to avoid exercising the some muscle groups consecutively. For example, a press-up station could be followed by a step-up station, which is then followed by a sit-up station.
Plyometric
Exercises where muscles use their max force for short intervals.
Explosiveness
The rate of force development is at the maximum for any type of muscle action using explosive power.
