How does gender influence?
Some sports are seen as more male or female sports e.g netball is seen as a female sport.
How does age influence
Age can affect performance and may also influence participation in physical activities.
How does socio-economic group influence?
This is based on head of the households income. If you earn in the high bracket you are more likely to be involved with sports which cost more. If you earn little, you can’t afford to play expensive sports.
How does ethnicity influence.
Ethnicity refers to a group of people who are united by common cultural traits. This can influence which sports they play.
How does disability influence?
People with disabilities take part in many sports. Howver they can’t take part in some due to their disability. E.g. a blind man can play blind football but not in a mens game.
Influence on other people
If your dad or older sibling plays a sport they will influence you to play it.
Commercialisation
Makeing something available on the market: using something to make a profit.
