Open System
Is where skills need to be adapted to the environment you are playing in
Closed system
Is where skills will not be affected by the environment. This can be practiced over and over again in training
Basic skill
Are ones that a player finds easy and needs little concentration
Complex skill
needs a player’s full concentration as it is difficult to perform
Low organisation
Skills that have clear, phases or parts. You can break phases down to improve technique
High organisation
Skills the have a lot of complicated phases or parts. Can’t break phases down
Visual Guidance
Showing of an accurate replication of the skill
Verbal
Someone is telling you how to perform the skill. Shouldn’t be used on its own
Manual/Mechanical Guidance
Where the coach comes in contact with the learner to help them perform the skill
Intrinsic Feedback
Performer’s performance evaluated by themselves. Says how they feel they have done. The more experience the more accurate you will be
Extrinsic feedback
Comes from an outside source e.g teacher or coach can be used as good motivation
Concurrent Feedback
Is given at the time of the performance e.g shouting of the sideline
Terminal feedback
Given at the end of the performance. Gives you time of being more reflective of your performance.
