overweight
If someone is overweight, they have more weight than is considered healthy by medical professionals.
Overfat
someone is overfat, too high a proportion of their body composition is fat - usually more than 19 per cent of total body composition for men, and more than 26 per cent for women.
Obiese
If someone is obese, they are extremely overweight - usually more than 20 per cent above normal for men and 35 per cent above normal for women.
Depression
If you don’t do much exercise, you are more likely to become depressed; and if you have depression, doing exercise can help to reduce, or even
cure it.
Coronary heart disease
People who sit for eight hours a day or more are more than twice as likely to have cardiovascular disease as those who sit for less than four hours.
High blood pressure
As you have seen, blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps. If your blood pressure rises and stays high, it can damage your body in many ways.
Diabeties
Diabetes is a condition where the amount of glucose in your blood is too high because your body can’t regulate the levels in the blood correctly.
Osteoporosis
the medical condition in which bones become brittle and fragile. Scientists think this is partly due to people’s increasing lack of activity.
Sedentary lifestyle
a lifestyle that is seriously lacking in physical exercise or activity. This means that they do little exercise, training or taking part in sports activities.
