Abrasions
Abrasions or grazes can be caused by friction of the skin against a rough surface e.g. a concrete playground or 4g.
Can occur from a tackle or just falling over in any game which can be played on a hard surface
Strain
A twist, pull or tear of a muscle or a tendon (while a sprain is an injury to a ligament).
Most common strains are in the back and the hamstrings.
Tennis/golfers elbow is a common form of a strain
Soft tissue
Injuries such as bruises
Sprain
A damaged ligament. A sprain often occurs when you’re ankle goes too far out of position
Concussion
The aftermath of a blow too the head. Symptons can be dizzy, a headache
Injuries to the bone
Greenstick. Don’t fully break through the bone. Transverse. Breaks through the bone. Impacted. Bone is broke but still attached. Communited. Bone is broken into many pieces. Oblique broke at an angle
Fraxure
A cracked or broken bone that happens after getting hit There are several types of fractures including:
In closed: the skin over the break is not damaged.
Compound fractures: the broken bone comes out the skin.
Simple fracture: take place in one line, bone is still in place
Stress fractures (overuse injuries): They can happen as a result of fatigue.
Torn cartillage
A firm elastic substance which lines adjoining bones. It absorbs the impact on the bones while reducing the friction during sports/ activity.
