Difference between prejudice and discrimination
A
Prejudice is an attitude and discrimination is behaviour
- usually negative
- directed towards others based on race, gender or other difference

- Cognitive Component
e. g. women are not cut out for leadership - Affective component
e. g. I get angry when i see a woman doing a mans job - Behavioural component
e. g. I would’nt hire a woman manager

- Tendency to divide world into social categories (in groups and out groups)
- Behaviours that are learned through observation (social cognitive theory)

- Assign children into racially and academically diverse 6 member groups
- The weeks lesson divided into 6 parts
- Each child becomes an expert on his part and teaches it to the others
- group members must work together to reach their objective
