Q
What is sclerotome? what does it form?
A
- ventromedial portion of somite
- forms vertebrae and ribs
1
Q
What are somites?
A
paired blocks of paraxial mesoderm on either side of notochord and neural tube
2
Q
What are dermomyotome? what do the cells form?
A
- dorsolateral portion of somite
- dermatome cells => fibroblasts => dermis
- myotome cells => myoblasts => mm.
3
Q
Mesenchyme cells migrate in what 3 directions?
A
- dorsally around neural tube
- ventrolaterally into the body wall
- ventromedially to surround the notochord
4
Q
What do the mesenchyme cells that migrate in 3 directions form?
A
dorsally = vert arch ventrolaterally = costal process ventromedially = centrum & intervert disc
