Sim Questions Flashcards
What pitch guidance do the takeoff cross bars give the pilot on takeoff?
Maintains pitch based on flaps. weight, and V2.
All engines: V2+ 10
S.E: V2
When does the dual cue FD change to a single cue FD?
When another vertical mode is selected
Why is FLCH the preferred method of climb?
In SPDe is has built in speed protections, so the AP will not command something the A/T cannot maintain.
What combination of speed brakes, gear, and flaps will give the pilot the highest descent rate?
Full speed brakes
Flaps 1
Gear Down
Give indications that a stall is imminent?
Stick shaker
PLIs

What vertical mode would you use on a VOR approach with an MDA? Localizer approach?
VNAV GP
None
Why do you set the altitude pre-select to your MDA on a localizer but use Baro minimums on a VOR?
Because a LOC is only a MDA. But a VOR is approach with vertical guidance and a DA of MDA+ 50 is used.
On an RNP AR approach when may pilots manually fly the approach?
Required to start the approach and should remain on to DA. If AP fails discretion may be used to continue.
