Ground: Upon engine start if ENG or ALL is selected in takeoff dataset in MCDU.
Flight: Airplane detects ice 1,700AFE or has been airborne for two minutes.
When in AUTO, when does WING ice protection turn on?
Ground: Upon reaching 40kts wheel speed when ALL is selected on takeoff dataset in the MCDU
In flight: Airplane detects ice 1,700AFE or has been airborne for two minutes.

During Ice detected and 2 minutes after
When do pilots use the ice protection system test knob?
Pilots do not use it.
What what speed can windshield wipers be used?
250 KIAS MAX
What is the TIMER selection on the windshield wiper knob?
8 second delay in between wipes.
Can we use the APU for anti ice?
No
If we must takeoff with ANTI-ICE and performance requires to not power the PACKs can we use the APU to pressurize.
No the APU bleed valve closes and we must takeoff unpressurized.
If the Engine anti-ice system fails, what happens the bleed valves?
They fail open.
