What is the APU procedure when shutting down the aircraft?

A

Turn the APU OFF
After receiving the OFF indication wait an additional 80 seconds to receive an APU FUEL SOV CLOSED ECAS MESSAGE before turning off the batteries.

A

OFF: Commands APU shutdown sequence, immediately turns off APU bleed
ON: Position for running
START: Starts APU, spring loaded back to ON

During normal Skywest operation, when should the APU be started?

A

Unless needed for power or a/c, start the APU 10 minutes prior to pushback. APU bleed is used to start engines.

APU Emergency Stop button

A

Pushed IN: Closes APU fuel SOV, and immediately shutdown APU with no cool down period.
White bar will illuminate.
Push OUT: Normal operation
In the event of an APU fire the top half will illuminate RED
