Shoulder Goniometry Flashcards
In this deck, you will review the landmarks for the proximal (PA) and distal arms (DA), and fulcrum (F) of the goniometer and test (T) position.
Shoulder flexion
T: Supine
PA: // to midaxillary line of thorax
DA: lateral midline of humerus
F: lateral aspect of greater tubercle
Shoulder abduction
T: Supine
PA: // to midline of anterior aspect of sternum
DA: anterior midline of humerus
F: anterior aspect of acromion process
Shoulder ER
T: Supine with humerus abducted to 90 degrees and towel underneath
PA: // or perpendicular to the floor
DA: in line with the ulna, using ulnar styloid process for reference
F: olecranon process
Shoulder IR
T: Supine with humerus abducted to 90 degrees and towel underneath
PA: // or perpendicular to the floor
DA: in line with the ulna, using ulnar styloid process for reference
F: olecranon process
