Craig’s Test
Purpose of Test: To determine the anteversion of femur
FABER (Patrick’s) Test
Purpose of Test: Assess for the SI joint or hip joint being the source of the pt’s pain
FADIR or FAIR Test
Purpose of Test: To detect for irritation of the sciatic nerve by the piriformis
Noble Compression Test
Purpose of Test: Assess for contributions of the IT Band to the pt’s symptoms (IT Band Friction Syndrome)
Percussion Test
Purpose of Test: Assess for a fracture in the LE
Trendelenburg Test
Purpose of Test: Detect gluteus medius tendon tears or weakness in the hip abductors
Anterior Drawer Test (knee or ankle)
Purpose of Test:
Knee: asses for the integrity of the ACL
Ankle: assess for ligamentous laxity or instability in the ankle, primarily tests the strength of the ATFL
Dial Test (Apley’s Compression) Test
Purpose of Test: assess rotatory instability of the knee
Varus Stress Test
Purpose of Test: assess the integrity of the LCL
Valgus Stress Test
Purpose of Test: assess the integrity of the MCL
Lachman Test
Purpose of Test: assess integrity of ACL
McMurray Test
Purpose of Test: assess for a lesion in the meniscus
Ely’s Test
Purpose of Test: assess for rectus femoris tightness
Posterior Drawer Test
Purpose of Test: assess the integrity of the PCL
Thessaly Test
Purpose of Test: assess for a lesion in the meniscus
