Coursebook materials.
These are the materials in a coursebook package that we can use in the classroom.
Cousebook package.
It usually includes a student’s book, teacher’s books and audio and/or video scrips. Tapescrip, audioscript or transcript. Sometimes it includes a workbook or activity book.
Needs analysis.
A study of learners’ level, language needs and intertests, using questionaires, interviews, diagnostic tests.
If we decide not to choose coursebook material we have two choices.
To replace it with materials with the same focus/aim from another resource.
To adapt the coursebook material.
Extending material.
Write extra item, following the same pattern.
Shortening material.
Use as much as you need.
Give different parts of the text to different learners.
Changing methodology.
We can change the interaction pattern.
Changing the level of the material.
Make it more or less challenging.
Reordering material.
Change the order of the material.
Make use of all the resources in the book.
Use extra material from the book or give whole-book tasks (searching through the book for texts, picture or language examples).
