Grammar
It refers to how wee combine, organize and change parts and groups of words to make meaning.
Grammatical forms
It’s how words are made up and presented in speech or writing. E.g. The grammatical form of plural is “base word + s”.
Parts of the speech
9 different parts: Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Determiners, Prepositions, Conjunctions and Exclamations.
Function
It’s the variation (in function) of the part of the speech according to the place in which is placed. E.g. He would never grow OLD and He’s OLDER than you.
Noun
To name people, places, things, qualities, ideas, or activities to act as the subject/object of the verb.
Verbs
To show an action, state or experience.
Adjectives
To describe or give more information about a noun, pronoun or part of a sentence.
Adverbs
To say more about how, when, where, etc. something happens by adding information to adjectives, verbs, other adverbs or sentence.
Determiners
To make clear which noun is referred to.
Prepositions
To show the relationship between a noun, noun prhase or pronoun and another word or phrase.
Pronouns
To replace or refer to a noun or noun phrase mentioned earlier or about to mentioned.
Conjunctions
To join words, sentences or parts of sentences.
Exclamations
To show a feeling specially in informal spoken language.
