Q. How to treat ptn with sever hyopnatremia < 109. who developed seizure?
Give 3% normal saline 100ml/h. try to elevate the sodium not more than 2-3 meq/L/h in the first few hours and not more than 10/24hours in total
A. Symptoms of right- left disorientation, problems with calculating and drawing. What part of the brain is affected?
The back of partial lobe
Numbness + impaired sensation of the opposite side of the body + Difficulty identifying sensation’s location and type ( pain or heat, cold or vibration ) what part of the brain is affected?
Front part of partial lobe on one side
Apraxia + inability to perform simple skilled tasks as brushing the hair or dressing. Which area of the brain Is affected?
Right paraital lobe
Q.what’s the first thing in treating suspected case of meningitis ( fever+ nuchal rigidity) ?
Give antibiotics ,ceftrixaone ( third generation cephalosporin )even before the results of LP.
Q. In treating epileptic ptn with phenytoin. What’s expected in case of excess taking ?
Nystagmus/ ataxia/ slurred speech/ confusion / insomnia/ dizziness/ headache
Q ptn underwent surgery to remove part of the brain to control epilepsy. After surgery ptn start complaining of amnesia. Which part of the brain was removed?
