Where can you configure your internet settings to secure your web browser?
The Internet Options window contains functions that are related to the Internet connection.
For example:
Security configuration
General parameters
Default page
Privacy settings
Connection setup
These settings take care of the security, accessibility, and privacy aspects of an internet connection.
In internet options: Security Tab what are the four Zones you can use?
The Security tab is used to categorize websites into four zones. These zones are as follows:
Internet: For Internet websites (except for websites listed in the Trusted and Restricted sites).
Local intranet: For intranet websites.
Trusted sites: For websites that you trust and do not cause any threat to your system or data.
Restricted sites: For websites that could be a potential threat to your system or data.
Based on these zones, different security levels are set up for different sites.
How can we add or remove restricted sites?
Start Charm > Control Panel> Network and Internet. > In the Network and Internet window, click Internet Options. > click the Security tab.
In the Select a zone to view or change security settings section, select Trusted sites, and then click Sites.
Note: The same process that is carried out for Trusted sites is also followed for restricting sites by clicking the Restricted Sites option.
Follow the prompts.
How can I configure the Secruity Level Zone?
Security Tab in Internet Options> Under the Security level for this zone section, click Custom level. The Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone dialog box is displayed.
You can customize the security settings for this zone in this dialog box. The security settings are set to Medium. You can customize the settings in the Settings section.
Another option is to select different security setting from the Reset to drop-down list.
From the Reset custom settings drop-down, choose High, then click OK.
Note: In case you need to revert to the default security settings, you can click Reset all zones to default level.
What are the functions of the Privacy Tab in internet options?
Functions in the privacy tab can perform the following activities:
Allowing/blocking cookies
Allow/deny sites from asking for the physical location
Allow/block pop-up
Allow/block extensions and toolbars when browsing privately
How can I configure the Privacy Options in Internet Properties so I can configure Settings and Turn on Pop Up Blocker?
Privacy Tab> Settings -Sites> A cookie can save user information. Possibly, this information could be used to contact the user without seeking their consent. > enter website > Click Block or Allow.
In advance settings > In the Third-party Cookies section, select Block and click OK.
Note: The default setting for Third-party Cookies is Accept.
Back on the Privacy tab, under the Pop-up Blocker section, ensure that the Turn on Pop-up Blocker checkbox is ticked.
Under the InPrivate section, ensure the Disable toolbars and extensions when InPrivate Browsing starts checkbox is also ticked. > You can go to settings to filter which websites are allowed Pop-Up blocker.
You can also exclude Websites in the Pop-up Blocker to display their pop-ups. Click Settings.
What is MIcrosoft Edge?
Microsoft Edge is the most recent web browser released by the company. Even though Internet Explorer was included in the operating system, most users preferred to use other browsers. Edge was released in 2015 to improve the user experience given by Internet Explorer.
They enhanced the browser’s appeal by adding many features and taking steps to improve security.
It now runs on Chromium, allowing extensions designed for the Chrome browser to work. Screen readers, games, ad blockers, and security features are all available for users to customize their browsers.
A consistent user experience may be simply deployed in a matter of seconds to a browser on a separate computer using the Microsoft account. The browser’s performance has also been improved, making it more comparable to Chrome and Firefox.
What account set up do you need to gain the best experience Microsoft Edge?
A Microsoft account provides you with one-stop-shop access to Microsoft Products such as your Outlook account, Microsoft Edge, OneDrive or configuring your Cortana settings.
What are the options in View Profile Settings?
In the settings area of the Microsoft Edge browser, profiles can be managed. Your Microsoft account information, such as subscriptions and payment details, can be managed.
You can log in and sync your browser experience from previous Microsoft Account settings.
The data used to build the sync is secure because it is encrypted with AES128. You can also manage your passwords. When you enter sign-in information on a webpage, you can change how the browser behaves.
You can also view stored passwords and enable/disable other features, such as password suggestions.

How can I work with Privacy, Search and Services Settings via Edge? Why do is this a good security measure?
You can manage your Privacy, Search, and Services on the Settings page in Microsoft Edge. You can also create exceptions on this page.
Browsing data can be cleared and can also configure what happens to it when the browser is closed. There is a security section on the website where you can manage certificates, block potentially malicious apps, turn on/off Smartscreen, and improve your web security.
All of them are designed to protect your computer from malware and provide a secure browsing experience.
Where can I find this Privacy, Search and Services Settings in Edge?
Three Horizontal Line Settings> Click Privacy, search, and services from the menu >The Tracking prevention page has 3 options. Balanced is selected by default.
Click Exceptions. CLick add a site> (add your site) > You have now allows the site to track the user.
How can you configure your browsing Data on Edge?
Three Horizontal Line Settings> Click Privacy, search, and services from the menu > At the Clear browsing data section, click the Choose what to clear button. > See the options available > You can click clear now to clear the cookies cache.
You can also explore “Choose what to clear every time you close the browser. > You can also configure a site where it does not have to clear browsing data when closing a site.
Where can I clear my cookies in Edge?
Three Horizontal Line Settings> Cookies and site permissions>
Cookies and data stored page, click Manage and delete cookies and site data.> In the Cookies and data stored / Cookies and site data page, click See all cookies and site data. > On the Cookies and site data / All cookies and site data page, click Remove all. > Click Clear on the Clear site data pop-up window.
Where can I configure my site permission on Edge?
Three Horizontal Line Settings> Cookies and site permissions>In the Cookies and data stored page, under the Site permissions section, select Location below All permissions.
The Site permissions / Location page is displayed.
On this page, you can Block or Allow websites. The slider for Ask before accessing is set to On by default.
