A

For windows as an example: Windows products are governed by both a Modern Lifecycle Policy or a Fixed Lifecycle Policy. Search for the product lifecycle for your specific Windows product and its corresponding Lifecycle Policy and end-of-support dates.

At some point Vendors will no longer support a OS which means it may be vulnerable to malware and viruses without any updates available to prevent any attacks.

What is the purpose of Linux OS?

A

Linux® is an open source operating system (OS). An operating system is the software that directly manages a system’s hardware and resources, like CPU, memory, and storage.

The OS sits between applications and hardware and makes the connections between all of your software and the physical resources that do the work. Which means you can run it on any hardware specifications.

Linux is free and makes you pay for services for application on top of the OS which is good for software developers.
