What must a registrant do in terms of client welfare
Take steps to protect or act in accordance with the clients welfare in all professional relationships
What must a registrant do when providing explanation of procedures?

Give a truthful, understandable and appropriate count of the clients condition to the client. The registrant must keep the client fully informed as to the purpose and nature of any evaluation treatment or other procedure. End of the client rate to freedom of choice regarding services provided.
What must a registrant do in regards to disclosure of assessment results?
To the extent advisable and not contradicted a registrant, must within a reasonable time properly inform an individual who has undergone a psychological assessment, or their legal representative of the conclusions, opinions and advice generated by the assessment
What three points must a registrant NOT do in terms of no abuse of information/power with clients or former clients?
1) use information obtained during the provision of psychological services, or use of power relationships associated with the provision of psychological services, to abuse or exploit a client or former client
2) use information received from a client to acquire, directly or indirectly, a material advantage or other benefit
3) seek any benefits from relations with a client aside from appropriate agreed upon monetary compensation for the psychological services rendered
In terms of misuse of influence what three things must a registrant NOT do when providing psychological services?

1) persuade or influence that client to make gifts or contributions to them or to institutions, organizations, or charities in which they have direct interest

1) the identification of the individuals who are considered the clients
2) a determination of the nature of the relationship the registrant will have with each individual, including clarification of the role and obligations of the registrant
3) the intended or probable uses of the services provided or of the information obtained from the services provided
4) parameters of confidentiality
What must a registrant do if a dual relationship is unavoidable?
The registration must document the specific circumstance, an account of why the duality is unavoidable and document, and informed consent of the clients for all services
What three things must a registrant do if there is foreseeable risks that a registrant will be asked to perform conflicting rules because of the involvement of a third-party?
1) clarify the nature in direction of their responsibilities
2) keep all parties appropriately informed as matters develop
3) resolve the situation and accordance with this Code
What three things must a registrant do as soon as it becomes apparent that a registrant may be called upon to perform potentially conflicting roles?
1) identify the present or potential issues
2) notify all parties whose rights be affected by the potentially inflecting role or conflict of interest
3) think through the implications of any new, or continued involvement in a matter, and make decision whether or not to proceed as planned, proceed with any necessary adjustments or withdrawal and document as appropriate
What are some examples of conflicting roles that registrants might face?
Acting as a marital counsellor to husband and wife, and acting as witness for either of them in a divorce proceeding
Being both a reviewer and evaluator
Being asked to conduct an independence, psychological assessment of the registrants therapy client
What three things must a registrant include when clarifying at the on set of the services, the nature of the relationship, when providing psychological service to an individual or entity, at the request of a third-party?
1) the registrants role with an obligations to each affected party
2) the probable uses of the services provided, or the information obtained
3) any limits to the obligation of confidentiality
What must a registrant do during foreseeable absences from their professional practice?
Arrange for one or more other appropriate professionals to provide coverage of their practice and deal with any urgent needs of their clients as required
What must a registrant do when employment or contractual relationships are coming to an end?
Make provisions to the extent possible, and with paramount consideration for client welfare for the transfer of responsibility for client care
What two things must registrant do and what two things may a registrant do when terminating psychological services?
1) must not abandon their clients
2) must terminate psychological services when it is reasonably clear that the client no longer needs, or wants to service or the client is not benefitting from the relationship
3) may terminate psychological services when a potential conflict of interest or dual relationship, rises, or at attempt to resolve situation, and some other appropriate manner that preserves client welfare
4) need terminate psychological services if threatened or otherwise, endured by the client or another person with whom the client has a relationship
what must a registrant do when institutional policies, procedures, or practices, prevent fulfilling the obligations of a registrant to provide appropriate training and supervision, supervision to ensure standards, and/or delegation of responsibilities?
