Under the BC infants act in the section consent of infant to medical treatment, define the following two terms:
Healthcare
Healthcare provider
Healthcare means anything that has done for a therapeutic preventative, palliative, diagnostic, cosmetic, or other health related to purpose, and includes a course of healthcare
Healthcare provider includes a person license, certified or registered in BC to provide healthcare
Under the BC infants act within the section of infant to medical treatment section. Subject to section 3, an infant may consent to healthcare under what circumstances?
An infant may consent to healthcare whether or not the healthcare would in the absence of consent, constitute a trespass to the infants person, and if an infant that consent, the consent is effective and it is not necessary to obtain a consent to the healthcare from the infant’s parent or guardian.
Under the BC infants act in regard to consent of infant to medical treatment request for consent, agreement or acquiescence to healthcare for an infant does not constitute consent to the healthcare for the purpose of subsection two unless the healthcare provider providing the healthcare has done what two things?
1) has explained to the infant and has satisfied that the infant understands the nature and consequences and the reasonably receivable, benefits, and risks of the healthcare and
2) has made reasonable efforts to determine, and has concluded that the healthcare is in the infants best interests
