Schizo
Disordered thinking. Ideas are not logically related, faulty perception and attention, lack of emotional expressiveness and disturbances in behaviour. Prev is 1%. Men slightly more than women.
Positive symptoms
Comprise excesses and distortions, include hallucinations and delusions. Acute episodes usually characterised by positive symptoms
Delusions
Beliefs contrary to reality and firmly held in spite of disconfirming evidence.
Persecutory delusions
Belief that people are plotting against you
Thought insertion
Belief that thoughts are not your own but placed into your mind by external source
Thought broadcasting
Beleif that your thoughts are broadcasted or transmitted, others know what you’re thinking.
External force
Belief that an external force controls your feelings or behaviour
Grandiose delusions
Exaggerated sense of his of her own importance, power, knowledge or identity
Ideas of reference
Incorporation of unimportant events within a delusional framework and reading personal significance into the trivial activities of others
