Hallucinations
Sensory experience in the absence of any relevant stimulation form the environment. mostly auditory. Most between persons own thought and voice of someone else. Broca’s area is active
Negative symptoms
Deficits in motivation, pleasure, social closeness and emotional expression. Take away from reality. Continue beyond acute episode
Avolition (apathy)
Lack of motivation and seeming absence of interest in or an inability to persist in what are usually routine activities
Asociality
Severe impairments in social relationships
Anhedonia
Los of interest in the experience of pleasure. Two domains:
Consummatory pleasure: In the moment like eating
Anticipatory pleasure; expected pleasure from future event (Mostly this)
Blunted affect
Lack of outward expression of emotion. Person may stare vacantly, motionless face, lifeless eyes. Flat toneless voice and unaffected
Alogia
Significant reduction of amount of speech
Disorganised symptoms
speech: Problems with organising ideas: Fleat of ideas, hak op de tak
Behavior: Loss of ability to organise behavior. Catatonia (gesturing and increased motor activity.)
