When does the scarlet fever rash appear
12 - 24 hours after initial symptoms

Tonsils red swollen and covered w exudate
Throat red swollen
Tongue strawberry white then turns to strawberry red
Palate
How long does the white strawberry tongue last
1-2 days
when does the strawberry red tongue appear
4th-5th day
palate
Erthymatous pinpoint lesions
Exanthema
Manifestations external
Flushed face w circumpolar pallor
Red pin point rash
Desquamation begins by end of first wk
Circumoral pallor
Paleness around mouth
Red pinpoint rash
Absent on face
Feels like sandpaper
More intense of the folds of joints
(Behind knee, groin, axillary)
Desquamation
Peeling of the skin
Complications of scarlet fever
Retropharyngeal abscess
Sinusitis
Otis media
Acute and or long term glomerolnephritis&rheumatic fever
