Scapula, Clavicle, Hand, Arm Flashcards
AC Joint (Acromioclavicular Joint)
- Between the acromial (lateral) end of the clavicle and acromion of the scapula
- Connects with the clavicle laterally
Glenoid Cavity
- Articulates with the head of the humerus
- Lateral part of the scapula
Acromion Process
- extends laterally with the coracoid process of the the shoulder joint
- Scapula
Coronoid Fossa
- Humerus
- Superior to the anterior portion of the trochlea (small depression)
Deltoid Tuberosity
- Humerus
- on the anterolateral surface of the middle of the humerus
Greater Tubercle
-Located lateral to the head of the humerus
Olecranon Fossa
- Deep triangular depression on the posterior side of the humerus
- Superior to the trochlea
Capitulum
- On the distal end of the humerus
- Ball-like
Trochlear Process
- lateral side and the medial epicondyle on its medial
- Ulna
Head (Humerus)
-forms the ball of the ball-and-socket shoulder joint with the glenoid cavity of the scapula
Radial Groove
- located on the center of the lateral border of the humerus bone
- Runs obliquely down the posterior aspect of the shaft
Trochlear Notch
- a large depression in the upper extremity of the ulna
- intermediate to the coronoid process and olecrannon
Olecranon Process
-the bony tip of the elbow located near the proximal end of the ulna
Styloid Process
- a slender pointed piece of bone just below the ear
- Both the radius and the ulna have a styloid process at the distal end
Radial Tuberosity
-beneath the neck of the radius on the medial side
