What is sampling?
Gathering data from a sample of respondents, should be representative of target market
What is random sampling?
Each potential member has an equal chance of being chosen, they are picked at random
What is cluster sampling?
Grouping together units of the population
What is Quota sampling?
Responding to a set group to sample e.g. 30 males aged 20
What is stratified sampling?
A sample representative of different groups
What is sample design?
Your method of selecting, structuring and interpreting results
What is sample size?
A proportion of the population sampled
What are the benefits of sampling?
Can provide useful insights before decision making and is quick
What are the drawbacks of sampling?
Risk of bias and not useful in segments when consumer habits change
