Wear leather shoes, possibly gloves, hair nets, aprons and clean clothes.

Keep every part of your body near or in contact with food clean and sanitised to prevent contamination and proper hygiene.
Keep kitchen clean
Keep the workplace clean to prevent contamination and better organisation for better performance and decreased risk/hazards.
Proper food storage
Proper food storage should be employed to ensure all food is suitable for cooking and serving.
Safe knife use
Safe knife use includes never pointing at someone, passing the handle first, proper knife form when cutting and storage.
Communication
Properly communicate intentions and if you are moving to prevent risks/hazards and to ensure the kitchen is in sync.
Prevention of cross contamination
Store certain foods apart from each other to make sure there is no cross contamination between foods and clean tools after use to also prevent cross contamination.
Use of proper tools
Use the right tools for the job and use them safely in order to prevent risks/hazard.
Be aware of surroundings
Always be aware of surroundings, whether it be cooking appliances, where everything is, people around you, ingredients and what you are doing to ensure risks are minimised and no hazards are available.
Check ingredients and make sure it is good
Check ingredients before use to make sure they are right for cooking and serving (make sure it is not off, contaminated, dirty and so on).
