What is erythroblastosis fetalis ( hemolytic disease of the newborn )?
A
When a Rh negative mother gives birth to Rh positive baby
mother will get anti D agglutions after delivery which as a result can cause troubles during the second pregnancy

What is the treatment of erythroblastosis fetalis?
A
Administration of anti D antibodies which neutralize the antigens and prevent the production of anti Rh agglutinins by the mother
Exchange blood transfusion → the infant’s blood is replaced by Rh -ve blood
