When society adopts a new belief or way of behaving becomes widely accepted
Eg reduce smoking, drink driving
This helps the economy

Drugs sometimes better than therapy
What impact does this have on the economy
Mental health affects work , people are absent from Job due to it
- people take less time off work because they can manage health better
- absence costs 15 billion a year annually
- research may lead to better motivation at work, take time of less

- if treatment works , benefit for economy to make widely available
Neuroscience has possibility to revolutionise our understanding of Brain
AI in future will be able think exactly like humans
How could this impact economy
Able to cut down on costs
Eg receptionists
Computers can do the work of individuals , bigger corporations will be able to save wages other wise spent on giving actual job
Will increase unemployment
People not able to spend money in economy
