Related t-test Flashcards
When would psychologists use a related t-test?
If the research comes from repeated measures or matched pairs design
The data is normally distributed and is interval data
How do you calculate the degrees of freedom in related t-test?
N(number in sample) - 1
What do you do once you have the T value in related t-test?
Look for the critical value in the table at p=0.05 depending on whether your hypothesis is one tailed or two tailed and then look at the value for the degree of freedom you calculated
What conclusions can be drawn if the T value is equal to or greater than the calculated critical value in related t-test?
The results are significant
Reject the null hypothesis
Accept the alternative hypothesis
What conclusions can be drawn if the T value is smaller than the calculated critical value in related t-test?
The results are not significant
Accept the null hypothesis
Reject the alternative hypothesis
