Receptor types Flashcards
Nicotinic N
ANS ganglia and adrenal medulla
-stimulates postganglionic nerves and initiates release of NE and Epi
Nicotinic M
NMJ –> contraction of skeletal muscle
Muscarinic
Parasympathetic
Eye: contraction and constriction (miosis)
Heart: slows
Lungs: constrict and secrete
bladder: detrusor contracts and other stuff relaxes
GI: salivation, propulsion, pooping
Sweat glands: shweaty
sex organs: erection
Blood vessels: dilation
Alpha 1
Eye: radial contraction/ dilation/ mydriasis
arterioles and veins: constrict
sex: ejaculation
prostate and bladder: contract (not detrusor)
Alpha 2
inhibits transmitter release at presynaptic nerve terminals
Beta 1
Heart: faster, stronger, quicker conduction
Kindeys: renin release for higher BP
Beta 2
blood vessels: dilate
bronchi: dilates
uterus: relaxes
liver: glycogenolysis
skeletal muscle: better contraction bc of glycogenolysis
Dopamine
kidney dilation of vasculature
