Intermediate - once a day type thing; not matter if giving food; consider when giving rapid; not timed with food; certain amount of time lasts; not think about food
Hypoglycemic episode think about what give and how long stay in sys - make sure cont eating because short acting out sys faster but more effect on sys
Nursing actions for short and intermediate insulin
Both have Drainage section and water seal suction and suction section
Dry - suction not regulated by water level but regulated by dial, canister regulates suction not what set on wall; tube comes off canister and hooks up to wall for suction source - set at according to manufacture - regulating suction is either water level or dial - activated accordion pop out and know activated and adj; easier maintain because not maintain water level
Wet - keep water level at certain level - certain level for water seal - see slight bubbling in suction chamber and that is what want
Bubbling water seal chamber - matters new/not; little bit bubbling - might have some air leaking into pleural cavity; common if pneumothorax and just freshly put tube in and reason for tube is because leaking air into pleural space; imp to pay attention to that; doc if bubbling in water seal chamber; if not and see bubbling - think disconnected, something happened, new air leak; bubbling in seal chamber - indicates air leak
Pat with chest tube what need pay attention - know nursing actions - connected, not leaking around insertion site - see if leaking and bubbling in seal - may mean did bad job and big incision; keep below level heart; does become disconnected; know long list
Difference between chest tubes - wet drainage and dry drainage chest tubes
Not memorize values; just know generalizations; TB - on 5 meds and hard on liver and take 6-12 months
Resp drugs: pats with obstructive lung diseases on steroids for inflammation and bronchodilators for bronchial constriction
What meds are we responsible for for first test
