what is puberty?
period at the beginning of adolescence when the sex glands become functional and secondary sex characteristics begin to occur
what is difference between puberty and adolescence?
puberty is physical changes
adolescence is behavioral and physiological changes
what is reset when a child undergoes puberty?

what are similarities / differences in distance and velocity curves?
both show ways of measuring growth.
distance is total/absolute height wheras velocity measures rate of growth
what is precocious puberty and what may cause it?
premature puberty.
tumours, inherited factors, meningitis, and thyroid/gonadal disorder
what can caused delayed puberty?
eating disorders, GPRS4 gene, chronic illness, tumours , lots of excersie and androgen insensitivity syndrome
what is inherited gene that causes delayed ppuberty?
GPRS4
what is menarche?
first menstrual cycle
who has a growth spurt ealier?
girls earlier than boys
