A
It is the filter that sorts the DNA strands.

A
It moves through the gel filter using an electrical current.
Negative –> Positive

How do DNA samples sort themselves?
A
The size allows for different speeds. Same sized molecules move at the same speed and end up grouped together. Smaller = faster
