Prebiotics (non-digestible) are a special form of dietary fiber that acts as fertilizer for the good bacteria in your gut. Prebiotic fiber goes through the small intestine undigested is fermented when it reaches the large colon. Examples: garlic, bananas
Probiotics are foods or supplements with live, beneficial bacteria that are naturally created by the process of fermentation in foods. Examples: yogurt, sauerkraut
